I am so sorry that I had to leave town for another sad event and could not attend. I was Reggie’s golf partner for over 7 years. Many may think I was 'just a golf partner' but when you spend 4 private hours with a person for that many years, you truly get to know the person better than most. You talk about family, jobs, health, politics and back to family. I would hear the stories of how it broke his heart when he had to shell out discipline, but he knew he must for the kids’ sake for example. He always had his love for you in mind. I would look forward to those early mornings knowing I got to spend 4 hours with such a great-hearted person; how he would bend over laughing into his hand, how he would retell a conversation just had, and discombobulate the whole story and make it even funnier….. He spoke of the love for his family endlessly. He loved his family. Even when he was first sick, he simply did not wish for his family and children to know as he worried that THEY may stress; he always worried about them and the pecking order in his life had him at the bottom. I just want to say to his family, that I KNOW how much Reggie loved you all, I know how good a man Reggie was. Reggie would want nothing more than to see his family happy and healthy. I hope one day, the family will be able to look back at all the love he shared and his tremendous laugh and the wish for the family to be happy and their lives filled with joy.
As I say, I was ‘just’ his golf partner, but in those hundreds or thousands of hours we spent together, I was able to see a great father, a kind man and a man with a heart of gold wishing nothing but the best for his families future…I also lost a parent at a very young age, and I know for certain that he would want nothing more than to see his wife, both of his children (and grandchildren), smile at the great upcoming events in your lives and throughout your lives, he would not want sorrow, he would want you all cherishing all those great events still yet to unfold….we were all very fortunate to have had him in our lives for this short period. Shane.....

My deepest condolences to the family. May God's promise at John 5:28,29 of a future resurrection bring you comfort. Until that time comes, he assures us at Psalm 34:18 that he "is close to the brokenhearted" and "saves those who are crushed in spirit." So he understands your pain and grief and is eager to help you by giving you the strength you need to cope during this most difficult time. (Philippians 4:13)
